5 Salsa tips for beginners...

21 Salsa Squad tips
  1. Remember why you started. Learning something new always has its challenges. In dancing it's realizing that you sometimes get left and right mixed up, struggle with some of the steps, forget the move 3 minutes after having learned it! For you it might be something different but what ever it is try and stay focused on your own reason for starting salsa in the first place, it'll be worth it.
  2. Be patient with yourself. It takes most people around 5 weeks to feel comfortable with the basic steps. Hang in there – you can do it!
  3. Be patient with others. As you move around the Salsa Circle you may come across people who are not as naturally gifted in the dance department as you are. They are learning too so encourage them, they will love you for it.
  4. Let yourself go wrong. Few people get it right first, second, third time, etc. In the same way as you fell over when you learned to walk and fell off when you learned to ride, let yourself go wrong. Because you didn’t give up you can now walk, and ride a bike! Soon you will be dancing!
  5. Have fun and remember – its only dancing! Laugh out loud when it all goes pear shaped and celebrate when it all goes well.
