Salsa Class Format in Cheltenham & Gloucester

Absolute Beginners

Those who attend a Salsa Squad in our Cheltenham and Gloucester classes for the first time will be eased into the night with an introduction to the basic steps. These three basic steps - the Back Step, Open and Forward and Back (The Mambo) are broken down into easy to learn segments. They are practiced to a count and then to music. This is really simple and only takes 15 minutes to learn, even for the absolute beginner.

Next, you will practice the moves with a partner to music. That's when you're Salsaring and amazing yourself at your new found talent. Generally, you will be swapping partners every couple of minutes; a great way to meet new people.

Finally, we introduce a move which is where the fun really starts. After an hours class you will be ready start practising what you have learnt to some Latin sounds during the Freestyle, every ones favourite part of the evening!

So, each week you will go over the basic steps and then learn a new move. After five weeks you will have learned five new moves and will be able to perform the basic steps without thinking about it. Click here for the five week Class Syllabus.

After five weeks you will, if you want to, be able to move up to the Improvers Class. However, if you want to stay in the beginners class for longer then that it's fine, you move on at your own pace.

Prepare yourself for your first real class by joining in an on-line class first here!

Improvers/Improver Plus

Here, you feel comfortable with the basic steps and can perform the moves they learnt in the five week Syllabus with relative ease. In this class you will learn a sequence of moves that all have one thing in common, they are deceptively simple! There are no overly difficult moves taught in the Improvers Salsa Class, just moves that are easy to lead and that look great on the dance floor.

Each week we will go back over last weeks combination and then learn a new one.

All in all it's a great night out where you learn some cool moves, meet a nice bunch of people, get fit and have lots of fun in the process. So come to one of our classes in Cheltenham or Gloucester - you'll have a blast!
